Well you're absolutely right, a lot CAN change in that time, but we think it can only change for the better.  A timeline for just some of the events you can expect to be a part of include:

September 2014

The day we officially enter the race, and the "Thank You" party for all those that have helped us thus far

October 2014

Our Octoberfest Fundraiser, involving over 20 local businesses with 400 guests invited where people will learn more about the trip, our sponsors, and attend a silent auction to bid on goods and services donated by our sponsors.  Additionally we have scheduled an on-air appearance with a locally broadcast/nationally syndicated radio show to talk about the trip.

December 2014

Boat Arrival Date (dependent upon your donation).  And the application of your company's logos (social media, get ready!)

January 2015

New Year's Eve Fundraiser and Bakesale.  Local bakeries and restaurants will be catering a large, semi-formal New Year's Eve party where guests will be able to make donations and learn about us and our partners.

Spring 2015

24 hour Erg-a-thon. Vicki will be rowing on a stationary rowing machine for 24 hours in a highly visible location, with signage displaying our partners and race details in an effort to increase awareness for our cause and sport.

Spring/Summer 2015

Various training trips around the country, including stops at the Maine Maritime Academy, Langley AFB, Chicago, Il and Santa Monica, CA where will be testing our vessel as well as giving talks at local venues about our trip and its causes, including local press coverage.

FALL 2015

Fall Gala Fundraiser. Join us for dinner, drinks, dancing, and the boat christening at King's Mill in Media, PA.  

Winter 2016

Boat to be initially inspected and scrutineered before being provisioned.

Spring 2016

Additional training trips around the East Coast

May 2016

Leave for Monterey and starting line!

June 2016

Pull up anchor and start rowing towards Hawaii!

August 2016

Arrive in Honolulu and MAKE HISTORY!
